Job Summary/Responsibilities



To ensure the successful delivery of design projects for exhibitions, conferences, awards, and digital products in line with agreed KPI's.


  • Delivery of design projects in line with business objectives set by Creative Director
  • Adherence to timelines and budget requirements
  • Designer KPI report
  • Act as a motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve both individually and as a part of a project team









Qualities needed for the role



Outline of key qualities:




  • Line manage 1 or more designers, working across a range of events and media products (exhibitions, digital, magazines, awards, conferences)
  • Ensure adoption and optimisation of design solutions, identify training needs and ensure line reports are technically proficient and meet design standards
  • Provide guidance, feedback and inspiration to line reports
  • Work with line reports to ensure successful delivery of design projects in line with agreed KPI’s, event and divisional strategy
  • Work with line reports to develop skills and competencies and ensure they have a clear development roadmap
  • Mentor and support the Design team to ensure their skills remain up to date and that they are leveraging current tools and processes to support the Marketing Department and wider business


  • Work with creative director to ensure design team has proficient tools and design software
  • Implement and develop asset management library to ensure brand consistency and efficiency
  • Design and introduce design asset templates to improve consistency and efficiency across all show brands
  • Create brand guidelines and style sheets for all show brands
  • Recommend external suppliers and ensure adherence to contractual terms and delivery
  • Liaise and work directly with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure KPI’s and objectives are met



  • Deliver assets to meet deadlines and communicate any issues far in advance to allow for problem-solving
  • Collaborate and support the marketing team to design a variety of assets
  • Lead projects from concept to implementation within the fast-paced environment
  • Work autonomously managing and working on multiple projects simultaneously to meet critical business deadlines
  • Create a centralized content library for the Marketing Department
  • Attend and define marketing briefings
  • Liaise with marketing and sales teams 
  • Confidently provide direction to line reports on working on their projects, inspiring them, and upholding high standards of quality and brand guideline adherence.
  • Manage any seasonal freelance design needs, providing assets and direction through to completion.
  • Create photography mood boards for all brand shows
  • Partner closely with all teams to identify problems and translate them into creative solutions that drive business metrics.


Skills required



Minimum Education Level:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent


Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a designer in events industry or with an agency
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Portfolio which contains examples of your work
  • Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizations skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong design skills with high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of design for print and digital
  • Strong typography, composition and information design skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive










  • Experience in video editing and knowledge of related software such as After effects, Premier Pro is desired
  • Web coding and user experience
  • Experience in AfterEffects and animate
