Build up and manage an offshore development team that will complement our current development team. Follow and enforce development methodology, agile coding standards, design, toolset, documentation, testing, refactoring, continuous integration, team collaboration and best practices of the Informa Global Exhibitions’ Sales applications. 

 

 

Job Summary/Responsibilities

 
   

 

  • Lead and enable team members to determine and implement best possible development solutions. Champion development best practices and policies, guide and influence team on leveraging such practices.
  • Manage, meet, coach, mentor and collaborate with developers.
  • Provide resource and timeline estimates required for solution.
  • Review, provide feedback and enforce technical documentation.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and planning with developers, business partners and DevOps teams.
  • Review, recommend and build tools and processes to improve developer productivity.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve the stability and reliability of our build, test and release infrastructure.
  • Partner with DevOps Operations team in continually working towards making improvements in the build/release and test process.
  • Follow and enforce change and release management procedures. 
  • Follow Agile development methodology to drive and deliver functionality on a regular cadence with data-driven feedback loops.
  • Master our development process and culture, and provide improvement recommendations.
  • Follow and/or develop audit processes to identify and reduce security risks across the platform.

 

Qualities needed for the role

 
   

 

  • Comfort with a variety of development tooling, including Force.com IDE, AutoRabit, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Selenium and others.
  • Technical writing and documentation experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with geographically distributed teams, across time zones.
  • Be articulate and confident when communicating with Business and other stakeholders in verbal and written communication.
  • Good time management, ability to multitask, ability to prioritize and propensity to handle urgent interruptions with poise and professionalism.
  • Ability to effectively transfer knowledge and the desire to train staff towards system proficiency and continuous improvement.

Skills required

 
   

 

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience.
  • Certified Salesforce Platform Developer I and Platform App Builder.
  • 5 years or more experience with Apex, Visualforce, Salesforce.com APIs, Communities, CPQ, Billing and Conga. Lightning experience a plus.
  • A deep understanding of multiple environments, patterns and languages, especially XML, HTML, SQL, Javascript, JSON, and CSS.
  • Comfort with a variety of development tooling, including Force.com IDE, AutoRabit, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Selenium and others.
  • Technical writing and documentation experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with geographically distributed teams, across time zones.

 

Desired

 
   

 

  • Certified Salesforce Platform Developer II, Salesforce Application Architect. 
  • Experience using ServiceNow to manage Incidents, Requests and Changes, and to run reports.
  • Experience working in an Events/Exhibitions Business.
  • Expertise in .NET development tools and languages.
