The sales manager is responsible for international exhibition space & sponsorship sales on key B2B trade shows within Informa’s global food & hospitality portfolio, while managing and growing high value customer accounts, primarily industry associations and government bodies, through cross and up selling. They will lead and motivate a sales team to deliver and exceed departmental targets.

The Role and Skills required:

  • Working to predetermined targets to sell exhibition space, sponsorship sales on key events
  • Collaborate closely with portfolio director to set and implement sales strategy including territory and account planning
  • Monitor sales performance and pacing and provide accurate and timely reporting of event KPI’s and forecasts
  • Manage sales team & global sales representatives to achieve and surpass show space & revenue targets
  • Liaise with show teams to manage floor plans, sales enquiries, customer care, pre-& post event planning
  • Liaise with marketing teams to devise and implement sales campaigns and produce marketing collateral
  • Manage and grow the portfolio’s highest value customers (primarily industry associations government bodies) through cross and upselling across all shows
  • Identify and build new key accounts
  • Develop brand and industry specific knowledge, including analysis of competitor events, to enhance and improve account management sales performance and build portfolio strategy
  • Strong face to face selling skills
  • Be able to create, customise and sell multiple bespoke packages and new revenue streams for these customers
  • Create and deliver sales & market presentations in conjunction with key clients

Position Requirements:

  • Experienced within exhibition sales and key account management experience ideally from an exhibitions background
  • Proven commercial experience on high performing events with consistent track record of meeting or exceeding targets
  • Passionate, customer-focused attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills; Adept at networking & able to socialise productively
  • Excellent negotiation and rapport building skills with high level client base
  • Resilient, determined and able to work under pressure
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Proven understanding of and demonstrated ability to manage the dynamics of working with multiple stakeholders and/ or departments and managing the different interests and needs
  • Ability to match business objectives with client needs
  • Fluency in English (additional language skills a bonus)
