To actively engage with the Informa Markets to ensure the business’ needs for customer data are being met, best practice is being adopted, the data quality is optimised and any issues are remedied.



  • Primary business engagement partners for customer data, ensuring our data meets the commercial needs
  • Ensure best practices are in place in capture and maintenance of customer data and manage the roadmap for improvements
  • Responsible for optimising data quality to meet the business’ needs and coordinating the resolution of significant data issues
  • Enable positive change and facilitate developments in the customer data processes in strategic programmes including Touchstone
  • Partner with the data privacy team to ensure compliance with data policies and procedures


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with business teams using customer data; engaging and assessing data needs for data quality improvement and overseeing the resolution of significant data issues, providing status updates as necessary and liaising with IT and Data Services and Operations accordingly
  • Ensure that best practices are adopted in the data life cycle and associated processes for portfolios in the respective region
  • Develop a stakeholder engagement approach in conjunction with the Data Optimisation and Engagement manager for Americas and ensure an effective partnership with Marketing engagement managers
  • Lead portfolio engagements for data migrations as part of the Touchstone programme, working with the respective teams (e.g. marketers) to define their data needs and taxonomies.  Facilitate this through a structured data brief process to then be mapped by business analysts and applied
  • Develop and own a roadmap to optimise the quality of customer data (attendees, exhibitors, sales leads etc) and coordinate with relevant colleagues and stakeholders to enable these and drive positive change
  • Ensure that inbound data (e.g. registration capture systems, lists purchased) is of optimal quality and work with appropriate colleagues to ensure controls and data validations applied adhere to best practice, setting standards where required
  • Support any data cleansing activities via 3rd parties as required in conjunction with marketing and segmentation functions
  • Support the development of Informa Markets’ data strategy as required
  • Implement data quality monitoring, reporting and profiling processes, from requirements to development and subsequently identify actions to be taken
  • Partner with the data privacy team to ensure compliance with data protection & privacy policies in the collection and storage of data
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility



  • Educated to undergraduate degree level or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, both when engaging with technical and non-technical teams
  •  Proven experience of stakeholder management and strong networking skills
  • Experience of co-ordinating multiple activities
  • Strong understanding of best practices in the capture and management of customer data
  • A good appreciation of the application of customer data in marketing, segmentation and for insight
  • Experience of managing customer databases, processes and procedures to support the marketing requirements of the business
  • Technical and analytical aptitude and comfortable to be hands-on with data where required
  • Experience of working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Experience of process improvement and comfortable with change
  • Knowledge of data legislation (inc. GDPR) and compliance procedures and policies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity tools


  • Relevant industry knowledge
  • Experience in the use of customer data in marketing, segmentation and insight
  • Exposure to processes involved in building and executing marketing automation campaigns
  • Experience in developing logical data models 
  • Supported data strategy development
  • Project management
  • Some SQL query skills
  • Knowledge of Talend MDM, Collibra and Redshift data platforms and of Eloqua, Adobe Experience Manager and Salesforce (or similar toolsets)
  • Experience of working in a global business and supporting business users in different locations
