MARKETING MANAGER

Overview:     

Primary objectives are to manage development and production of innovative promotional collateral and other show materials – including print and electronic – as well as timely public relations campaigns. Goals include incrementally increasing attendance and participation at the CONSTRUCT Show.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic team player to work with the Director and show team to execute a comprehensive marketing strategy and advertising campaign to:

  • Increase the brand awareness of the CONSTRUCT Show
  • Generate qualified attendee prospects and convert them to registrants
  • Increase registration revenue and attendee count
  • Increase exhibitor participation and exhibitor count
  • Drive growth in select market segments
  • Deliver and maintain a timely and cohesive message in all communication

You are accountable for:

Working with Director to develop and manage marketing plan including:

  • Strategically plan overall promotion objectives
  • Determine points of distribution and quantities
  • Manage projects ensuring timelines and budgets are met
  • Execution of strategic and innovative marketing plans in a timely and cost-efficient manner
  • Develop campaigns to grow social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram
  • Develop and maintain accurate attendee databases, updating as necessary
  • Develop and manage partnerships with industry associations
  • Report on the effectiveness of campaigns through metrics including email and website analytics, use of source codes, and post-show surveys

Creating, managing, developing, and producing promotional collateral including:

  • Coordinate details with printers including mail house and print costs, production requirements, and schedule
  • Work with show team to develop themes, ideas, concepts, and schedules
  • Copywriting, sourcing images, and gathering supporting materials
  • Manage production with graphics firm to establish design and content
  • Distribute and manage proofs internally among show team and externally with key stakeholders

Managing public relations activities including:

  • Negotiate and manage advertising space with key industry publications
  • Manage press partnerships to maximize editorial coverage
  • Draft press releases and coordinate distribution of releases and overall industry promotion
  • Develop press kits that can be distributed efficiently to industry publications

Managing development and production of Comprehensive Brochure and Show Program/Directory including:

  • Work with Director to determine overall format and design, including front of book materials
  • Coordinate shipping / delivery of show program to show site

Overall responsibility for developing and maintaining the online registration:

  • Develop and update content as needed ensuring information is accurate and timely
  • Manage registration testing, collection, and organizing all edits
  • Develop and distribute production schedule to team and regularly gather team’s input for changes

Overall responsibility for maintaining the website including:

  • Develop and update content as needed ensuring information is accurate and timely
  • Develop and distribute production schedule to team and regularly gather team’s input for changes
  • Execute A/B test of website content

Deployment of email campaigns:

  • Draft copy and create multi-step email campaigns
  • Create lists and segment data
  • Understand email marketing system and how to effectively use it to send and track messages
  • Develop dynamic content to tailor messages to prospects based on demographics
  • Executive A/B tests of email content

Function as integral part of overall show team / effort in performing additional duties as required. Travel, as required.

What you bring to the team:

  • Three to five years marketing experience working with advertising, promotion and production - degree in marketing an advantage 
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets and multiple project timelines
  • Knowledge of various social media platforms and passion for social media marketing
  • High level of proficiency in the use of standard computer software including Word and Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign preferred
  • Experience in Eloqua or other email deployment software preferred
  • Excellent customer service and written / verbal / telephone communication skills
  • Strong team player who interacts well with external clients, vendors and internal teams alike
  • Previous tradeshow experience a plus
