Role Summary – accounting intern



The General Ledger Intern function is a paid internship offering an opportunity to gain experience working with a corporate General Ledger team.

The position reports directly to the Assistant Controller or Accountant and is responsible for assisting in general accounting and monthly close processes.

They will ensure compliance of the overall R2R General Ledger processes, making certain that delivery of the Shared Service Target Operating Model (“TOM”) is a priority.

They will communicate with other teams within Informa Global Support Division including Tax, Legal, Treasury, Group Finance, IT, Accounts Payable, US SSC O2C Accounts Receivable and  Payroll and key stakeholders.

  • Assist in the preparation of various month end journal entries and reconciliations
  • Participate in the process for the accrual of direct and indirect expenses
  • Contribute in specific areas in the month-end close process
  • Aid in the preparation of monthly financial package balance sheet reconcilaitions
  • Perform intercompany accounting with multiple foreign and domestic affiliates
  • Complete data imports and data entry into the general ledger system
  • Learn financial analysis and ad hoc reporting
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Taxation
  • Basic accounting bookkeeping skills
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated individual able to multi-task and work well with other professionals
  • SAP experience preferred
  • MS Office at advanced level preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
