The Sales Specialist is a hybrid role and as such will be responsible for managing established client relationships as well as working closely with marketing, sales, and product management teams to achieve established lead goals and implement business development initiatives that maximize and grow the Informa footprint and generate bottom line revenue for the company.

We are looking for a dynamic, target driven individual with a demonstrable track-record of managing client relationships and growing new business. Someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, a consultative approach and passion for sales. It’s important this person has the desire and potential to grow into a more senior role within the Retail Banking Segment.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Cement strong relationships with key decision makers within existing customers, identifying cross sell opportunities with individuals or other parts of client’s organisation
  • Generate and qualify leads over the phone (e.g. cold calling, prospecting, schedule sales calls)
  • Holistic understanding of customer’s requirements and industry challenges and present Informa Retail Banking solution
  • Achieving and exceeding challenging revenue targets and sales objectives, as defined by the Regional Sales Manager
  • Ensure that clients derive maximum value from their subscriptions and effectively building relationships across the territory by training and supporting existing clients
  • Manage the process of delivering clients successfully to the contract renewal cycle and to minimize client attrition
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
  • Convert leads and acquiring new clients in a competitive sales environment
  • Actively maintains sales pipeline opportunity stages so that their pipeline is a true and accurate indicator of prospects' statuses; utilizes pipeline reports to provide sales forecasts to management
  • Responsible for creation of account plan for target accounts, including organization profile, contacts by department, and targets by service for each contact, strategy for growth, objectives and implementation schedule

 Required Experience:

  • A customer centric approach and excellent client management skills
  • Strong collaboration skills, an ability to build win/win situations with other colleagues in the customer supply chain
  • Strong comfort level pitching a variety of solutions, ranging from syndicated data membership services to more tailored project-based consulting services
  • Enthusiastic, competitive, results-driven and solutions-orientated with a strong work ethic
  • Individual must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be detail oriented
  • High degree of integrity, ability to cultivate and grow long term relationships based on a level of mutual trust at all levels within a client organisation
  • Strong collaboration skills, an ability to build win/win situations with other colleagues in the customer supply chain
  • Strong comfort level pitching a variety of solutions, ranging from syndicated data membership services to more tailored project-based consulting services
  • Highly motivated top performer
  • Proven track record of New Business growth
  • Significant experience selling into, and knowledge of, the Retail Banking environment and preferably an established network of senior contacts with UK or European Consumer and Business Banking Divisions
  • Ability to articulate complex solutions in a simple and coherent manner
