Taylor & Francis is looking for a Sales Manager who is responsible for achieving and exceeding sales revenue targets in accordance with the sales plan, through the effective management of customer relationships.  The Sales Manager will provide a high level of customer service and account management to prospective and current customers. 

Key Tasks:

  • Develop and focus on short and medium-term strategy
  • Timely & accurate reporting of sales results and activities
  • Plan, schedule and conduct regular customer visits to achieve financial targets and maximize sales opportunities
  • Gain good products and platform knowledge to provide relevant training to customers when necessary
  • Cultivate good relationships with the customers, ensure that trading with each account is sustainable, profitable and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with Marketing on promotional campaigns
  • Report periodically to the senior management on sales progress and the business environment

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed set revenue targets for the assigned products
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Customer retention
  • Regular contact with existing customers throughout the renewal cycle
  • New business
  • Developing new business and new product revenue

Management and Reporting:

  • Data capture of sales activities/calls and updating on Salesforce
  • Completion of sales progress reporting (e.g. revenue vs target, activity reporting etc.)
  • Assist customers in the renewal process
  • Continually monitor and research the market using online resources, gaining customer feedback, industry networking and attending competitor events where appropriate,
  • Effective communication with other internal departments including Marketing, Editorial, Finance and UK counterparts 

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Significant and successful experience in a sales role
  • Highly target driven
  • Computer literate and proficient in the use of commonly used business software
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in publishing or/and library sales will be an advantage
  • Relevant industry knowledge
