  • The Record to Report Senior Manager reports directly to the local SSC Lead and is responsible for the accounting deliverables; specifically, accurate monthly reporting, and maintaining and improving Balance Sheet Integrity across supported divisions
  • The role is a key line of defence in ensuring that Informa’s accounts are statutorily correct, whilst at the same time providing insightful information to operational stakeholders
  • The role will play a key role in the leadership of the accounting team and also within the overall shared services operation ensuring it is as effective, and as efficient, as possible.
  • The role will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of service delivery in line with agreed timelines and service agreements. This performance will be measured by Key Performance Indicators as designated by management and the Enterprise Analytics team
  • Accounting will be conducted with statutory compliance and in line with the Group Finance policy
  • The role will have 5 direct reports, each being a controller for their respective division or team
  • As a senior manager the colleague will ensure that Informa and the Global Shared Service Organisation objectives are implemented in the European R2R team
  • The colleague will have responsibility for operating within budget constraints and continually exploring options to improve efficiency
  • The R2R function supports all the Informa divisions in preparing their historical monthly accounts and balance sheet analysis and reconciliations. The team is divisionally organised to support European Business Operations with an additional Accounting Centre of Excellence team that acts globally. Our Global Support R2R team is also global.

Skills & Abilities

  • Very strong focus on accounting accuracy, integrity and completeness.
  • Experience of close liaison with external and internal audit teams and senior management
  • Have a strong process focus, able to understand the various finance processes to a reasonably technical level in order to craft messages and materials correctly and effectively.
  • Act with integrity, tact and diplomacy to formulate trust at all level

Knowledge & Qualifications

A qualified accounting professional (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with specific experience in monthly reporting and balance sheet control and integrity.

  • Knowledge of working in a European or Global business environment with experience of stakeholder engagement
  • A proven track record of team management and leadership
  • Knowledge of dealing with mergers, acquisitions and disposals
  • A history of continuous professional and management development to personal skillset
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred
  • 6 or more years of relevant accounting experience preferred
  • Audit background preferred
