Taylor & Francis Group, a leading international academic publishing company, are looking for a motivated and ambitious Editorial Assistant to join the Digital Resources team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of its burgeoning programme of online primary source collections across a range of subjects in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
The Editorial Assistant will support the team to develop new digital primary source collections for Higher Education teaching and research and contribute to projects in production.
This is an exciting and varied role which will include domestic and international travel to attend conferences and visit archives.
Key responsibilities of the role include working with the Digital Resources team to:
- Assist with the development of project proposals for new thematic collections of digitized primary and secondary source material.
- Conduct market research and analysis to assess market demand.
- Compile full inventories of material for digitisation.
- Work closely with colleagues within and across departments to assist in all stages of development, including production, as required.
- Attend conferences to give product demos and develop product proposals.
Candidates should ideally be of graduate level or equivalent with a passion for the Humanities and Social Sciences, particularly History, and an interest in digital technology and its potential for teaching and research. Experience handling primary source material is desirable but not essential.
Applicants will need to possess the ability to effectively manage tasks independently and to deadlines, possess good communication and written skills, initiative, creativity, attention to detail, and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Previous experience in the publishing industry is desirable but not essential.
