The Sponsorship department works across the board of all Informa Middle East’s conferences.  With around 25 conferences a year we sell on various sectors including Finance, Business Management, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, Education, Technology, CSR, Shipping, Oil & Gas, and Healthcare. We work on events across the Middle East from Abu Dhabi and Dubai to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, working with some of the biggest companies in the region.

Key Performance Indicators

•               Achievement of sales revenue/profit targets

•               Successful event management

•               Management of event budget

•               Number of calls made per day

•               Time of call duration

•               Number of Proposals out (day/week)

•               Salesforce updated and maintained

•               Effective co-ordination with Production and Marketing

•               Growth of existing portfolio by generating new ideas

Main Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Drive through the achievement of sales revenue/profit targets
  • Continue to build strong relationships with current and potential clients both pre and post event
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with agents representing the event to ensure the achievement of revenue targets for each event
  • Manage and maintain existing policies and procedures for the team
  • Work proactively as a team member sharing ideas and contributing to the overall growth of the department


Event Management

  • Set up a sound and workable project plan for each event with clearly defined timelines
  • Plan, prepare and monitor annual budgets for the event with strict adherence to revenue and cost ensuring achievement of profit
  • Oversee the development of an event floor plan
  • Liaise with the Sales Administrator and Operations Manager to ensure that all logistical and operational aspects of the event and sponsorship elements are met
  • Ensure collection of payments by regular communication and coordination with the Accounts department



•               Continually monitor and research the market

•               Identify and attend competitive events where appropriate

•               Campaign Management in Salesforce

•               Completion of weekly sales reports and daily updates of the event pipelines

•               Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility


Person Specification


Minimum Education Level:

Educated to degree level or equivalent


Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience:


  • Previous sponsorship experience with a demonstrated successful sales record of high value sales activity in conferences or exhibitions
  • Full understanding of event sales cycles
  • Speaks and writes clearly and fluently in English to both individuals and groups
  • Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Commercial awareness



  • Two years of exhibition sales and exhibition management experience
  • Spoken Arabic
  • Related industry knowledge and experience
