The Global OD & Talent Manager is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:

Partnership and Stakeholder Management:

  • Builds strategic partnerships with change leaders and programme teams, driving creation, orchestration and development of future state organisational designs and sustainable people change initiatives.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor on all strategic OD related topics, with a strong focus on the promotion of good OD practice and global consistency in terms appropriate OD principles.

Project Management:

  • Plans and manages projects including stakeholder management, task management, risk mitigation, communications, deadline management, progress updates etc. to implement specific solutions and initiatives, achieving specific business objectives.
  • Ensures all aspects essential for project success are being managed effectively, including HR, technology, communications and engagement etc.

Talent & Performance Management:

  • Leads on the creation of new organisation wide approaches to Talent and Performance Management, and works with team-members and stakeholders to ensure these are embedded and impactful.
  • Leads on the creation of competency models, ways-of-working and assessment of capabilities and behaviours with the Learning and Performance specialists, to ensure that new teams and organisational models have necessary capabilities to be successful.

Employee Engagement:

  • Leads on the creation of new organisation wide approaches to Employee Engagement, and works with team-members and stakeholders to ensure these are embedded and impactful.

OD, Culture and Change:

  • Helps continuously evolve the Learning and Performance function through effective use of OD principles across Learning & Development, Performance Management, Talent Management etc.
  • Is an agent for change and innovation, championing and driving new ideas and ways of working in line with key business priorities.
  • Works in partnership with the HRD and HRBP organisation to identify people impacts and help assess opportunities and risks of change.
  • Manages stakeholders effectively to ensure high levels of engagement, ensuring effective execution of change and initiatives.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to assess and improve organisational health and effectiveness, partnering on projects and programmes to promote optimal organisational performance.
  • Helps the organisation make data driven decisions, based on people metrics, engagement information, people metrics including performance and talent data, spans of control, engagement etc.


  • As a functional specialist, may mentor other members of the HR team or less experienced OD professionals.
  • Works collaboratively with HR leadership team and other HR specialists.

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge

  • At least five years experience of managing highly successful OD initiatives.
  • Demonstrates deep knowledge and experience of contemporary OD practices.
  • Demonstrates deep knowledge and experience of Talent and Performance Management including performance management practices, identifying critical behaviours, talent reviews, calibration, development, and succession.
  • Superior consulting and change management skills.
  • Demonstrates an Agile approach: consulting, piloting, reviewing and improving work practices and initiatives.
  • Able to sell ideas and create engagement.
  • Able to challenge and influence at a senior leadership level with credibility.
  • Is accountable for project and business outcomes.
  • Excellent programme management and organisational skills.
  • Confident, calm, objective and focused.
  • Relationship builder who creates partnerships based on trust.
  • Clear, succinct verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and present content with confidence and gravitas.
