KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Group Treasurer is expected to assume the following key responsibilities:

  • Management of two direct reports in the Risk Management team
  • Responsible for all market trading activity of the Group
  • To fully understand, map and quantify the market risks impacting the group and subsequently assess, design and implement an appropriate hedging strategy of the Group for each of the risks.
  • To be responsible for managing and reporting on liquidity positions which will include ensuring cash held in the Group is managed in the most efficient manner and provision of information on cash held and liquidity across the group.
  • Management of the servicing of outstanding debt.
  • Analytical support including provision of credit rating analysis where applicable
  • Responsible for Treasury reporting internally and externally (including compliance with debt facilities).
  • To support the Group Treasurer in implementing the Group’s treasury policy including the design and development of a robust controls framework for the Group’s transaction activity, relevant treasury procedures and disaster recovery plans
  • Assist the Group Treasurer with implementing the debt strategy of the Group, ensuring an appropriate debt maturity profile and currency mix.
  • Assist the Group Treasurer with the debt investor and banking relationships, including credit rating agencies presentations. This includes managing the funding section of the company website
  • Support key-cross functional projects within the Group

The ideal applicant will preferably need to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, abilities and qualifications:

 

KNOWLEDGE

Technical skills required

  • Experience in a corporate treasury function is essential
  • Experience in managing front office activity, including FX and interest rates both from an execution and hedging point of view is necessary
  • Strong technical accounting background specifically in respect of Treasury transactions
  • Experience in creating and maintaining robust controls
  • Ability to present reports to senior management
  • Experience in financing is advantageous but not fundamental

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and team management experience
  • Candidate must be able to have excellent presentation skills and be willing to and able to raise the internal profile of Treasury

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA) and a track record of continuous professional and management development;
  • The MCT qualification is desirable
  • Evidence of recent management and leadership development.
