 Key Responsibilites

The R2R Assistant Controller is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:

  • SSC Liaison for clients, Divisional CFO & Group Finance 
  • Responsible for the monthly close process of the Management Accounts; Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet. Details include; Reconciliations, Accruals, Allocations, Revenue downloads, Pre-payments, Variance Analysis and commentary in accordance with the published timetable
  • Ensure Balance Sheet reconciliations are in accordance with Balance Sheet Integrity guidelines
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis including, budget/forecasting, working capital, Group reporting, supplementary packs and ad-hoc requests
  • Publish financial results in SAP FC
  • Ensure communications are handled between the SSC, Group finance and the Business Teams
  • To be involved with any acquisition integration/due diligence
  • Working on projects within the SSC and department including key process testing & systems
  • Working with internal and external auditors
  • Assist in the accounting integration of new products into the SSC accounting structure and systems
  • Analyse and solve Adhoc problems using knowledge of business and systems
  • Tax & Compliance duties as required by your SSC

 

People Management Responsibilities:

  • Team workload management
  • Motivate team to ensure performance metrics are hit
  • Support communication structures across the team to ensure all key messages are communicated
  • Support R2R Controller to develop a plan for cross-training, work shadowing and rotation of responsibilities within team
  • Provides coaching on both soft and technical skills within the team
  • Participate in Recruitment & Selection processes
  • Act as a role model to others
  • Team admin duties such as absence management, holiday authorisations, timesheet approvals etc

 

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to oversee, motivate and manage people in an R2R environment
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Word and Outlook are essential
  • Good communication skills at all levels including a wide range of stakeholders within the business
  • Knowledge and ability to use relevant internal systems

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of all R2R processes including best practice in R2R, people, processes and technology
  • Significant knowledge of SAP system
  • Good knowledge of leadership, coaching and people development
  • Recognised qualification/Accounting degree (SSC Specific)
  • A track record of continuous professional and management development
  • Knowledge of dealing with acquisitions and disposals
  • 4 years relevant accounting experience
  • Knowledge of lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred
