Informa Tech is recruiting for a Festivals Marketing Content and Community Lead to join their dynamic and fast-paced team on a full-time permanent basis.

The Festivals Marketing Content & Community Lead will create and manage the content and community marketing strategy for the London Tech Week & related Festivals Portfolio of brands, to drive awareness, engagement, customer acquisition, retention and advocacy for all relevant customer audiences.

As part of the Content Marketing team, you will be responsible for defining and developing best practice for content creation, distribution and tracking, and then implementing this across your portfolio. You will also be responsible for monitoring community activity all year round, tracking and interpreting KPIs/metrics and reporting this back to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage a strategic content marketing plan and calendar for the portfolio to drive community engagement, increase newsletter sign-ups, web traffic, event interest and conversions
  • Selection of appropriate digital channels to amplify content – including social (organic and paid), PPC, email, as well as new & emerging digital channels and platforms
  • For your brands, understand the competitive landscape, target audiences and personas, the brand proposition and key messages, in order to develop content that drives customer engagement and response
  • Work with the Head of Digital Content & Head of Marketing to set community and audience KPIs for each brand
  • Work with the Head of Marketing to set and then manage the content marketing budget for the portfolio to ensure the required commercial results and ROI is delivered
  • Ensure all content plans include effective activities along each stage of the customer funnel, including awareness driving, engagement, new prospect acquisition/conversion, and loyalty/advocacy (for attendees and sponsors)
  • Identify and deliver innovative ways to bring high levels of awareness, engagement and advocacy for the portfolio
  • Leverage market data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that lead to improved awareness and engagement across the portfolio
  • Work closely with the campaign teams to ensure integration of campaign and content plans
  • Implement best practice across the portfolio for content creation, distribution and measurement that is defined and agreed with the content management team.
  • Support in generating leads and delivering sponsored content, eg. sponsored webinars and video interviews
  • Identify and prioritise key influencers across all relevant customer audiences and implement a strategy to forge relationships with those individuals to raise awareness for the brands
  • Ensure that across the portfolio the team are crafting, compelling customer-centric communications, establish and maintain a consistently branded customer experience (look & feel, tone of voice, messaging)
  • Create and manage the ‘at event’ onsite content plan to ensure that client deliverables are fulfilled, and relevant content is captured onsite and broadcast through appropriate channels
  • Ensure all content activity is tracked by channel across Google Analytics and our CMS and report on this both throughout the event cycle and post event
  • Provide aggregated reporting of content and community KPI performance vs. target, ensuring full ownership of monthly marketing KPIs, and weekly reporting

Knowledge and experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in creating and executing content strategies and plans that deliver marketing and business objectives
  • Solid experience in developing strategic frameworks and processes, and creating highly effective strategic and tactical content
  • Proven experience across long-form thought-leadership, gated content and lead generation campaigns, such as: webinars, whitepapers, reports etc
  • Experience of developing customer insight and improving customer experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, PR or relevant disciplines
  • Digital marketing: solid understanding of SEO, Google Analytics, working with paid search
  • Experience of a similar B2B events role is preferred, but not essential
  • Excellent team player
